The points described are not facts or true.

Of course you can use c+strg for Copy, p+strg for paste and so on.

Of course usability and softwareergonomics are realized on a high level. What doesnt mean it is perfect.

But the best point is it exists a using concept - somthing you always will miss by ms office products. That means in ms office the menue structure doesnt make sens, or to say it like it is "to shut down Computer press Start" is not realy intuitive or usability standard.

True is notes looks not that shiny and some shortcuts are older than Windows and there was the standard short cuts like Netscape was the Standard browser. If user are using non standard software form MS which are not iso ui standards and than wondering, that not every software works with exactly same Shortcuts as MS does - it is just funny.

Too say it as conclusion of course Notes Sucks but there is no software which sucks less and can do the same. And with a look at outlook or exchange there can not even used with the same productivity for mailing as notes. A little example - every notes Mail can be addressed with a URL link. Easy to grap direct from the Mail and be put where ever it is usefull (PowerPoint Präsentation); a Protocol to a Topic. on Desktop, into Browser-link list ...

well, i know someone who knows someone who was also a bit annoyed with notes.
now this someone's solution was to install the "domino connector for outlook", which is available from microsoft.
from what he told me it's not plug and play, but almost: "install the connector, create a new account in outlook, and choose the connector in the advanced options".
apparently works very well, great synchronisation/offline mode, integrates with calendar, ... have a look!
