update autumn 2002: although cheeez! was awarded the austrian “e-business manager award 2001” (to CEO christian lutz) and covered even in the financial times and although demand existed for such a product, we now know that cheeez! has failed. two reasons: the business model wasn’t sound enough (higher costs than expected) and logistics troubles had a negative impact on customer satisfaction.
